Q. Is admission to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu and the Great Buddha, or parking, included?
Admission is not included. Kotoku-in (the Great Buddha) charges an entry fee paid on site, while the shrine grounds at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu are free to enter (the treasure hall is extra). Parking fees vary by facility and are an extra out-of-pocket cost. Tolls and fuel are included in the tour price.
Q. Can we still keep to schedule during hydrangea or autumn leaf season?
Kamakura gets significantly congested in June (hydrangeas) and November (autumn leaves), sometimes with traffic restrictions. An early 8:00-8:30 departure is recommended during these periods, and if timing is still tight, the driver can help narrow the visit to two of the three main stops on the day. Extensions beyond 5 hours are billed in 30-minute increments.
Q. Can the car drive onto Enoshima itself?
No. General vehicles cannot enter Enoshima island, so pickup and drop-off are at the foot of Benten Bridge, and everything past Enoshima Shrine is on foot or via the paid Enoshima Escar escalator. It is roughly a 20-minute uphill walk to the observation lighthouse at the top, so those unsteady on their feet may prefer to stop at the shrine's main hall. Bags can stay in the waiting car.
